Cyst Excision

A cyst is an abnormal cavity in the bone or delicate tissues which may contain a liquid which is regularly surrounded by a capsule and is generally lined with a thin layer. There are many different types of cystsLarge cavities should undergo needle aspiration to secure that they do not represent a solid tumor. Also, the genuine nature of a large cyst should be fixed before its total evacuation by an incisional biopsy, so that the excision system can be altered for that cyst type.

The major reason for suggesting that a cyst is removed, why because over time they increase in size and may eventually become infected. Very large cysts may significantly weaken the lower jaw, influencing it to fracture. Teeth adjacent to a large cyst may detach, displaced, or undergo root resorption.

Good cysts are habitually slow growing, and there are occasions when it is prudent to avoid removal. Every person with a cyst should be checked individually, and treatment will be carefully planned.
